November 9
This is just a short note out to everyone to let you all know that I'm doing ok. I want to write a blog about everything that happened because it is all quite the story and your prayers I believe really helped work things out. I can't describe the support and love I've felt from everyone, it has just amazed me how many people have been praying...pretty much all around the world. I am recovering, slower than I'd like, but that could be because of the fact that I found out I have malaria again. I can't even try to distinguish between all the symptoms now, but I am starting to eat a little, and it is staying down for now. And I can sit up for about 20 minutes before the awful spinal headache comes. I'll write more when I can, right now it is still hard to focus that much and I keep falling asleep or feeling too nauseated to try to type. I love you all and thank you deeply for your prayers! Every day I read through all the comments sent to me to help me feel like I can make it through everything.
"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children, to earn the approbation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to give of one's self, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived--that is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our prayers continue wending their way to heaven and to Africa!!
ReplyDeleteYou're a very precious treasure to all of us!
The headaches and nausea are pretty tough to endure, but it will get better!! and pushing extra to do anything will only prolong them!! (I know you won't want to do that :-)
I'm eager to hear more reports as you are able to send them on. You are quite a gifted storyteller!
Love you
Auntie
You are in our prayers, and I know that you are in God's hands. "Have I not commanded you? Be stron and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."--Joshua 1:9
ReplyDeleteDitto on the Joshua 1:9 :) I love you Sarah! Get well soon! and seriously, don't push yourself! I know you have a tendency to do that but it won't get you well any faster! You are in my prayers every morning...as I ignore both of my alarm clocks because I don't want to leave my bed :P 2 hikes, climbing and a bike ride...its been some weekend :) You wouldn't want to swim in the 4-H pool now...its disgusting :P and...one of the buildings was open and had a map on it that...shows 2 mines back there...I'll tell you if we find them :)

Hi Sarah
ReplyDeleteIt was good to hear your "voice" and know that you are at least up to checking your emails. Sorry about the spinal headache! Ouch. It seems like that would amount to major global discomfort for you and I'm praying it is a short-lived symptom!
It sounds like you might be in a more comfortable place with someone to take care of you! Let them do the running and you do the resting.
Hang in there...prayers and thoughts continue...Sandi
I'm so glad you can already see some of the results of all our prayers because there will only be more so that's at least something to look forward to! Once a Big-Laker always a Big-Laker! You're prayed for everyday cuz we're one big family!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSooooooooooooooo glad to hear that you are doing better. Just don't try to do to much and over do and get a relaps. You are in our prayers to give you the patience now to let your body heal. So nice to know we have a God that can see what is going on all over the world!
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs
Darlene
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through MJ's page. We've all been praying for you and a speedy recovery.
Just take it easy and one day at a time.
Take care,
Steve and Serena Liu
You worry a lot of people getting sick and doing crazy things over there in Chad. It's a good thing God is with you no matter where you go, or what you do.
ReplyDeleteGet better.
